I grew up in the beautiful countryside of Cambodia and had an amazing privilege of attending an international school in Phnom Penh. I had also worked in a few nonprofits in Cambodia before moving to the US to obtain my undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Before joining Sombok, I worked with adults, children, and couples from various backgrounds both in Cambodia and the US. When it comes to therapy, I take a collaborative approach, working alongside clients to identify their concerns and target treatments. In therapy, I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space so clients can process their experiences, which can sometimes be scary and painful, in the presence of an unconditionally accepting other. I believe therapy is a space where clients can discover insights, self-compassion, and resilience, and learn valuable skills to be all that they are created to be! To best meet clients’ needs, I utilize an integrative approach, which is emotionally focused and trauma-informed, to treatments.
My areas of interest include:
Trauma and abuse
Relationship and attachment issues
Career Concerns
Premarital and marital counselling
Parenting issues
Coping with life changes
Self-esteem
Stress and anxiety
Grief
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, hiking, gardening, cooking, and relaxing by the lake/pool. I also love listening to instrumental music. I cannot draw for the life of me, but I love looking at beautiful arts/décor and strolling through beautiful streets.
Coming to counselling can be scary. Thank you for taking that brave step and for allowing me the privilege of walking alongside you!
