I believe a safe space is where your whole self is warmly embraced, allowing you to unpack your life experiences and current circumstances without fear of judgment or shame. I approach therapy with a sense of curiosity and encourage you to explore your own stories and emotions with gentleness. As a co-journeyer, I view collaboration as essential to your healing process.
I practice Narrative Therapy informed by an attachment perspective. I believe that change becomes possible when we create space between you and the problem. I engage in intentional listening and ask questions that invite you to consider new ways of viewing yourself and your story. This process can free you to discover new solutions, determine your ideal future, and develop the connections you yearn for.
I am committed to being culturally responsive and culturally competent. I aim to understand the experiences of systemic marginalization and oppression and work to be an ally for those affected by it. My practice is grounded in an affirming, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and anti-marginalization social justice perspective. I work to advocate for social change and equalize power imbalances both in the therapy room and beyond. I believe that, as humans, we are inherently relational and all experience emotions.
My areas of interest include:
Emotional distress
Managing life changes and transitions
Identity and self-confidence issues
Stress and anxiety
Grief and loss
Self-harm behaviours and suicide
Relationship issues
Parenting issues
Children and family dynamics
Trauma
I have always been fascinated by how we heal and grow as humans. I cherish getting quality time and having meaningful conversations with my friends and family. I also enjoy playing board games with my kids, exploring the outdoors while running with our dog, Snoop, and the challenge of learning new skills. Recently, I took on the challenge of learning to drive a tuk-tuk.
