I am an experienced and versatile psychologist who has worked with a broad range of clients including children, adolescents and adults. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Between my studies, I worked in Thailand for one year at the Ministry of Health Department of Psychology and the Nakhon Ratchasima Psychiatric Hospital where I had the chance to learn from renowned international psychologists. I hope to continue my education to learn a wider variety of therapy approaches.
I previously worked as a school psychologist where I helped children and adolescents with a range of mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression, school refusal, and low self-esteem to develop coping strategies and improve their emotional well-being. I believe that early access to mental health services can greatly improve cognitive, emotional, and educational development. The benefits include the prevention of more serious mental illness, self-harm, and suicide.
In my current role at Sombok Psychology, I have been providing counselling and therapy sessions for adolescents and adults, centred around grounding techniques, coping skills, and psychoeducation. My use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I tailor my therapy and counselling approach to the individual’s needs.
My area of interest include:
Anxiety
Depression
Stress management
Insomnia
Intergenerational Trauma and PTSD
Parent and child relationships
Adult relationships
LGBTQIA+ clients
In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar, listening to music, taking photos, gardening, walking my dog, spending quality time with my friends and family, and travelling.
